Internationaal vooral bekend als producent van jeugdfilms, bij voorbeeld La guerre des tuques/The Dog Who Stopped the War (André Mélançon, 1984), The Peanut Butter Solution (Michael Rubbo, 1985), Bach et Bottine/Bach and Broccoli (Mélançon, 1986), La grenouille et la baleine/Tadpole and the Whale (Jean-Claude Lord, 1988), Tommy Tricker and the Stamp Traveller (Rubbo, 1988), Bye Bye Chaperon Rouge (Márta Mészáros, 1989), El verano del potro/Summer of the Colt (Mélançon, 1989),Vincent et moi/Vincent and Me (over Van Gogh; Rubbo, 1990), Why Havel? (documentaire; Vojtech Jasny, 1991), Dancing on the Moon (Kit Hood, 1997), Regína (Maria Sigurdadóttir, 2001), L’extraordinaire destin de Madame Brouette (Moussa Sene Absa, 2002) en Le gang des hors-la-loi/The Outlaw League (Jean Beaudry, 2014). Als acteur te zien in Maria Chapdelaine (Gilles Carle, 1983). Was directeur van het Montreal World Film Festival (1962-67) en in 1979 kort van het in 1963 mede door hem opgerichte Institut Québecois du Cinéma (IQC).
